In March 2010, 12 physically disabled children from mainstream schools in Sunderland took part in a skiing trip to France. The trip was funded through the Aiming High for Disabled Children Programme.
This trip was so successful that it inspired a number of people to get together to officially form ‘Sunderland Adaptive Snowsports’ as an independent group. Work is underway within the group to secure funding which will allow regular training sessions and an annual skip trip abroad. For more information on this exciting new venture click here.
