The City of Sunderland has a population of just under 300,000 and is the largest city between Edinburgh and Leeds. It is situated on the north east coast of England, with access to some of the most beautiful countryside in England.

Sunderland’s name probably derived from the Sunder – land (the land divided by the river) which was granted to Benedict Biscop in AD 686.

Sunderland Children's Trust

The Children’s Trust is a set of arrangements through which partner organisations work together to improve the well being of children and young people.

Sunderland Children's Services

Children’s Services provide a wide range of services to children and young people from 0-19 years and their families.

Children's Disability Service

Sunderland City Council Children's Services provides a range of help to disabled children and young people, their families and carers.

Sunderland Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB)

The SSCB is a key multi agency statutory mechanism for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children in Sunderland
